Britney Spears have finally made her way back to the music industry, releasing her latest collab piece with Elton John. The music video titled “Hold Me Closer” is a new spin on Elton’s hit song, “Tiny Dancer.”
Since her conservatorship was dissolved in November 2021, Spears has not released any music before the single’s release. According to some news sources, the song reached the top of iTunes sales in 29 nations just hours after it released online.

The Conservatorship
Just a few months before Britney Spears got her release from a nearly 14 years conservatorship. She seemingly went on numerous musical tours during the period. But later she testifies that she was being forced to against her will. She couldn’t upset her fans as the tour tickets sold out.
Spears is still in a court dispute with her father, Jamie Spears, who handled her conservatorship, and Tri Star Sports & Entertainment Group, her former business manager. The judge recently sided with the singer. The courtroom ordered that her father must sit for a deposition this month, ruling that she would not be deposed.
Spears claims that her father and Tri Star exploited her finances throughout the conservatorship. She even made damning allegations about their alleged behavior towards her, which she has categorized as “conservatorship abuse.”
The singer has been enjoying her newfound independence and marriage to Sam Asghari. And she is busy working on projects of her choosing, such as a large book deal and singing in the studio with John, as Spears’ lawyer, Mathew Rosengart, pursues her battle in the courtroom.
“Hold Me Closer,”
To be precise, only long-time fans of Elton John will be able to recognize the track. Before Spears breaks out with “Tiny Dancer” in the chorus, the two icons sing “The One” together over a powerful dance beat at the beginning of the song. The song is peppered with Spears’ trademark, vocally-fried “baby” and ad-libs from both John and Spears.
The #FreeBritney campaign backed the pop star throughout her whole conservatorship battle and has since created the hashtag #JusticeForBritney. It is now supporting the Princess of Pop in the wake of the track’s release.
“Hold Me Closer” will undoubtedly become a huge smash. Aside from Spears being among the best-selling artists of all time. The star’s popularity is at an all-time high because of the global resonance of her tale of conservatory training. The Grammy-winning pop icon has sold more than 100 million records.
She has had numerous No. 1 albums and songs on the Billboard charts. This gave her the title of the highest-paid female musician in Forbes for several years.
Britney’s Reaction To The Music Video
Before the song’s release, Spears expressed her excitement for it. She stated that collaborating with John was “a big thing to me.” It’s pretty incredible that I’m performing with one of the most iconic men of our time, she wrote in a tweet. I feel a little overwhelmed.
A basic rocket emoji and a red rose, which are symbols used by John and Spears, respectively, are featured as the artwork for the track, which John announced earlier this month.
Days earlier, Page Six had reported that the two had been collaborating in the studio. In the end, John played the song for diners at a restaurant by the seaside on Thursday at a meal in Cannes.
Why was Britney under a conservatorship in the first place?
In 2007, after her divorce from her then-husband, Kevin Federline, and losing custody of her two kids, she started behaving erratically.
She was going through an unstable mental health condition
She was twice hospitalized in 2008 as a result of a temporary psychiatric assessment decision, which followed an alleged incident in which she allegedly refused to turn over her sons during a standoff with police.
Thus, a temporary conservatorship was declared and was later made permanent the same year.
Who is Sam Asghari?
Sam Asghari is the current husband of Britney Spears. He is an American- Iranian model and actor. They got married in 2022 in a very intimate ceremony.
